Service Technical Internship

Overview

The Syracuse operation of Alta Equipment Group is seeking motivated students to join our internship program as technical interns. The internship provides hands‑on experience in construction equipment maintenance and fabrication, with a 12‑week paid commitment.

• Assist mentors in shop duties, including basic maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Participate in technical training modules and safety procedures.
• Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and follow all established work schedules.
• Document work performed and provide periodic updates to the supervising engineer.
• Carry out any other duties reasonably required to support team objectives.

• Right to work in the U.S.
• Minimum 20 hours per week commitment for at least 12 weeks.
• Current GPA of 2.8 or higher in the last semester before internship start.
• Pass physical, drug, and background screening.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, leadership potential, or relevant high‑school automotive coursework.

• Academic performance, references, and mechanical aptitude are evaluated.
• Initial mechanical and aptitude testing is required.
• Candidates may be interviewed on campus and via phone/second interview.

• Complete a 12‑week, hands‑on internship with a comprehensive training program.
• Learn fundamental systems, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Demonstrate a work ethic and team‑player attitude.
• Use newly learned skills confidently and seek opportunities to grow.

• Regular interaction via speaking and hearing; frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands.
• Occasional reach and climb; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Work near moving mechanical parts; possible vibration and outdoor weather exposure.

• Paid internship with competitive hourly wage.
