Responsibilities- Oversee third‑party design firms in developing I&C systems, providing technical input on system architecture, medium/low‑voltage distribution, grounding, surge protection, and equipment layout.
- Review and validate third‑party design deliverables—including single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, and specifications—to ensure constructability and adherence to NEC, IEEE, and client standards.
- Collaborate with external design teams, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to align I&C system designs with facility requirements and project timelines.
- Perform quality assurance and risk assessments on third‑party designs, identifying and resolving issues related to regulatory compliance, constructability, or environmental impact.
- Collaborate with third‑party quality teams to ensure construction meets final operational requirements.
- Support construction by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and participating in field coordination and inspections.
- Oversee commissioning and testing phases by reviewing third‑party design performance and coordinating with vendors for equipment validation and system startup.
- Own and manage I&C systems post‑construction, including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and field instrumentation (e.g., sensors, transmitters, valves).
- Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for I&C assets.
- Monitor system health using diagnostic tools and performance data to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with OEMs and internal teams for upgrades, firmware updates, and lifecycle management of I&C assets.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and cybersecurity standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70, ISA 84, IEC 62443).
- Utilize BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and control systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA) to verify design interoperability and ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitor project progress, manage design‑related risks, and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality design deliverables.
- May require occasional travel to project sites, vendor facilities, or third‑party design offices.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple design deliverables and deadlines.
- Relocation to project location is required; the position is 100% on‑site with no hybrid option.
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a closely related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in I&C engineering, including design collaboration, construction support, and operational troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and industrial instrumentation.
- Knowledge of relevant standards (ISA, IEC, NFPA) and cybersecurity practices.
- Skilled in controls system software, diagnostics, and BIM platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks).
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices and electrical system safety protocols.
- Strong communicator with proven ability to work across engineering, construction, and operations teams.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting I&C systems in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or data center facilities.
- Knowledge of control system cybersecurity standards (e.g., IEC 62443) and emerging technologies such as IoT and Industry 4.0.
- Proficiency in BIM tools and workflows (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) for I&C system documentation, modeling, and integration.
- Ability to mentor operations staff, promoting technical excellence, safety, and continuous learning in I&C system operations.
Estimated annual base salary: $89,000.00 – $. Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses, and equity.
