About the Role
News Channel 9 (WSYR-TV), located in East Syracuse, New York, has an immediate opening for a Broadcast Engineer. The Broadcast Engineer installs, operates, maintains, updates and repairs all broadcast and technology-related equipment within the facility.
Compensation: $19.00 - $24.00 DOE
Requirements
- Technical degree in Broadcasting, Electronics, Computer Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Familiarity with audio /video streaming equipment/services.
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers and other office equipment.
- Fluency in English. Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with video, audio, IP acquisition and encoding/decoding equipment.
- Experience with network, audio and video cabling, microwave equipment, satellite antennas / receivers and other broadcast-related equipment.
- Experience with file-based acquisition, editing, storage, transfer and transcoding systems.
