Summary

ATS Mechanical Integrity Group needs a Resident Inspector API‑570 (additional API/NDT certs a plus) for direct on‑site support at customer facility in New York State. The primary focus will be on mechanical equipment reliability and the inspection and assessment of tanks, vessels, and piping components. This is a full‑time position working 40 hours per week. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspections of industrial equipment (storage tanks, pressure vessels, and piping systems).
  • Generate calculations in accordance with API, ASME, and STI.
  • Generate written reports.
  • Manage client relationships.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or a closely related field preferred.
  • Must have API 570 and any additional API certs (API 510/653) preferred, including NDT experience and additional NDT certs.
  • Must be proficient with reports, especially Excel spreadsheets and similar formats.
  • Must be local to Upstate New York or willing/able to relocate to the area.
Experience
  • 8‑10 years’ experience in mechanical reliability, tank/vessel/piping inspections, or design and mechanical integrity program management.
  • Plant engineering experience.
  • Industrial inspection, operations, and maintenance experience.
  • Process improvement experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to write reports detailing assessments and results.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to multi‑task and work in a growing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite:
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
