- Support and contribute to proposal efforts (RFIs, ROMs, RFPs, IRAD, CRAD) by evaluating opportunities, coordinating engineering schedule and cost inputs (including NRE estimates), and reviewing technical proposals for R&D programs.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, including feasibility, integration, and manufacturability.
- Oversee integration and test activities, including lab experimentation, environmental testing, and field demonstrations.
- Ensure specialized engineering support, such as reliability, maintainability, thermal design, structural analysis and electromagnetic compatibility, are included in designs and reviews where appropriate.
- Partner with research scientists, advanced engineering teams, and external collaborators (e.g., government labs, universities, industry partners).
- Document technical baselines, experiments, and results to support knowledge transfer to future development phases or transition to production programs.
- Support transition of successful technologies from R&D into formal product development or programs of record.
- Occasional travel, including overnight stays, may be required. Airline travel must be acceptable.
- Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of development experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role preferred.
