We are seeking a Product Safety Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting industrial electrical products designed for hazardous environments. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to play a key role in global product certification, regulatory compliance, and product safety initiatives while partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams.

This role supports certification and compliance efforts for products including industrial lighting, enclosures, and electrical control devices used in demanding and hazardous operating environments.

• Lead and support certification efforts for new and existing products to meet domestic and international safety standards
• Coordinate with third-party testing and certification agencies to validate product safety and performance
• Review and prepare technical documentation including construction reviews, compliance reports, and certification support materials
• Interpret and apply regulatory and product safety standards to support engineering and product development teams
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to resolve certification and compliance issues
• Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement of internal certification and compliance processes
• Monitor evolving safety and certification standards and provide guidance regarding compliance impacts
• Utilize compliance and certification platforms to support product approvals and documentation workflows

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting hazardous location certification or related product compliance activities
• Experience working with product certification, regulatory compliance, or product safety programs
• Strong technical documentation and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams

• Experience with ATEX, IECEx, UL, CSA, and NEC standards
• Background supporting testing and evaluation of equipment used in hazardous environments
• Experience coordinating with third-party certification agencies and testing laboratories
• Familiarity with compliance systems and certification tools such as UL Product IQ or IECEx Online
• Strong project management and communication skills
• Professional certification related to hazardous location or product safety standards is a plus
