Job Description:
Saab, Inc. has an opening for the role of Senior Staff Integration & Test Engineer to lead a small team focused on system integration, verification, and validation as part of a major FAA radar program. As a critical member of the team, you will support the integration and test of air traffic control radar systems being deployed to more than 40 of the largest airports in the US over the next three years.
The position is based in our East Syracuse, NY office, with the possibility of travelling a few times a year for customer meetings.
Responsibilities and learning opportunities include:
Planning and overseeing daily activities for the Integration & Test team while ensuring compliance with company processes
Providing technical guidance and coaching for less-experienced engineers
Supporting schedule development and cost management
Discovering, investigating, and solving problems
Conducting hardware, software, and system integration and troubleshooting anomalies
Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to understand customer requirements and establish test success criteria
Developing, documenting, and executing test approaches and procedures for formal selloff with customer witnesses
Leading technical reviews and status meetings
Performing data analysis, preparing briefings, and generating test reports
Compensation Range:
$115,700-$150,500
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics. Master's degree is a plus.
15+ years in a technical environment, primarily in a Test Engineering role.
Experience leading Developmental Test and Evaluation, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Proven background in radar hardware, software, and system integration & test activities
Previously demonstrated leadership skills with cross functional experience.
Experience with hands-on Radar Systems.
Experience with C++ and Linux and/or digital hardware
Experience in MATLAB for tool development/systems analysis.
Understanding of the use of configuration management, quality assurance, requirement management systems, and automatic testing tools.
Ability to independently and effectively interact with all stakeholders (internal/external) on technical issues.
Experience with providing cost-effective estimates for schedule, labor, and equipment required to cover integration and test activities of the team.
Willingness to travel up to 10% in support of program and business efforts.
Understand the need for control, repeatability, and risk management and act accordingly and proactively.
Excellent presentation skills to enable integration and test related material, and effectively communicate in a group environment.
Ability to effectively multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and an analytical eye for noticing inconsistencies and an innovative passion for reconciling them.
Possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, must be able to interface respectfully with co-workers, customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
