Lead / Head / Specification Manager — Data Centre
Location:
Navi Mumbai (Travel to Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, and Bengaluru)
Reports To:
President, Infrastructure Business Unit
Experience:
7–10 years total, 5+ years in Data Centre industry (mandatory)
Education:
Electrical engineering background preferred.
You will be leading Vashi’s Data Centre vertical, with full ownership of strategy, execution, and end‑to‑end P&L. Working closely with the President & directors to drive strategic initiatives, support high‑stakes decision‑making, and ensure effective execution focused on the data centre division.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development & Key Account Management
- Engage with Vashi’s data centre customers (developers, EPCs, and MEP contractors) from the early project stage.
- Identify procurement opportunities with new customers.
- Engage with operations and maintenance teams of live data centres to drive project‑based sales and recurring MRO revenue models.
- Strategy and P&L Ownership
- Identify and develop data centre market opportunities across product categories such as UPS, busbars/ busways, electrical distribution, HVAC, and allied systems.
- Own revenue growth, margin performance, and overall P&L for the Data Centre vertical.
- Ensure strong credit discipline and adherence to procurement and governance norms.
- OEM & Vendor Partnership Development
- Build strategic partnerships with data centre‑focused OEMs across Electrical systems, Power transmission and backup, Cooling, and fire safety.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, credit structures, and delivery commitments with key suppliers.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a team covering technical pre‑sales, solutioning, and project fulfilment.
- Develop capabilities in technical consulting, commercial selling, and execution excellence.
- Strong understanding of data centre electric infrastructure: LV/MV distribution, UPS, transformers, cables, bus ducts, PDUs, earthing, HVAC, and fire safety systems.
- Ability to interpret BOQs, single‑line diagrams, GA drawings, and technical specifications.
- Proven ability to build and scale business verticals or product‑led portfolios.
- Strong negotiation skills with OEMs, EPCs, and senior customer stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of project procurement cycles and vendor ecosystems.
- High ownership mindset with strong problem‑solving ability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Overall experience of 7–10 years, 5+ years in Data Centre industry, preferably in Sales, Procurement or Business Development.
- Strong exposure to key Electrical product categories:
Wire & Cables, Busbars or busways, UPS, PDUs, flexible power cables, switch gear, and related infrastructure systems. - Experience selling products & solutions to data centre customers from their Cap Ex stage; knowledge of B2B distribution ecosystem is add‑on.
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical (Not compulsory).
- 7–10 years total experience, including 5+ years in Sales / Procurement / Business Development specific to Data Centre contractors and end users.
- Passion for building a business unit and owning end‑to‑end P&L.
- High exposure to strategic decision‑making and operations.
