Job Title and LocationMechanical Engineer – 1 / 2 (Syracuse, NY)
Job OverviewWe are seeking a self‑motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the development, assembly, and manufacturing of power, radar, and sensor devices for military applications. The role will collaborate with leads, engineers, and technicians across the organization and will provide input on requirements flow‑down, concept creation, rapid prototyping, mechanical design, environmental analysis, producibility analysis, and environmental testing.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Support engineering research, design, development, integration, and analysis of complex electro‑mechanical products
- Perform 3‑D modeling, 2‑D drafting, and computer‑aided simulations of concept designs
- Create preliminary, draft, or final released technical data packages
- Identify problems or deficiencies that require configuration or procedural changes
- Analyze complex functions, procedures, and problems to find creative, logical, and effective solutions
- Provide inputs to project peers and technical leads
- Interface with vendors and customers
- Comply with applicable AS9100 quality procedures in the performance of duties
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Mechanical Engineer 1:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field - Mechanical Engineer 2: 2 years relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or 0 years relevant experience with a master’s degree
- Proficient in 3‑D solid modeling (e.g., Solid Works)
- Proficient in 2‑D drawing (e.g., AutoCAD)
- Understanding of dynamic motion and thermal principles, calculations, and applications
- Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance
- Experience with structural shock & vibration and thermal finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as ANSYS Mechanical Workbench and Icepak
- Technical drawing creation in tools such as Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Interfacing with vendors and customers
- Solid Works PDM experience
- ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5, and GD&T standard practice
- Military, ANSI, and IPC‑620 standards
- Metal and plastic fabrication processes and equipment
- Cable harness assembly materials and methods
- Active Secret Clearance
