Core Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Design:
    Architect plumbing systems from schematic design through comprehensive construction documentation, producing high-fidelity floor plans, riser diagrams, schedules, and sections.
  • System Calculations:
    Perform rigorous engineering calculations for high-performance water, waste, vent, and gas systems to optimize efficiency and safety.
  • BIM & CAD Mastery:
    Champion the development and coordination of sophisticated plumbing models utilizing AutoCAD and Revit environments.
  • Equipment Specification:
    Select and specify complex plumbing equipment, advanced fixtures, and cutting-edge water conservation technologies.
  • Multidisciplinary Coordination:
    Synthesize and integrate plumbing designs seamlessly with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Construction Stewardship:
    Oversee the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings, analyzing submittals, and resolving complex RFIs swiftly.
  • Code Authority & Compliance:
    Conduct deep-dive code research to ensure absolute compliance with all local, state, and national plumbing and building regulations.
  • Sustainability & Innovation:
    Drive water conservation initiatives and pioneer sustainable design strategies across all commercial and institutional projects.
  • Project Management & Mentorship:
    Steer project schedules and budgets while actively mentoring junior designers, fostering team development, and establishing internal best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a recognized Plumbing Design Certification (CPD).
  • Licensure:
    Active Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) credential.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years of progressive plumbing design experience specifically within an AEC consulting engineering environment.
  • Software Proficiency:
    Robust, hands-on command of Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    In-depth, functional understanding of national/state plumbing codes, energy standards, and overall building systems.

    Experience:

    Proven project history involving large-scale healthcare systems or complex, sustainable multi-family developments.
