Syracuse, NYJob Type: Full-time, direct hire Salary Range: $65,000 - $78,000 annually depending on experience
The Role
Join a collaborative engineering team developing next-generation industrial control and test systems. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in hands-on, fast-paced environments and enjoy solving real-world industrial automation challenges. Youll play a key role in the design, development, and optimization of PC-based test platforms and control solutions that support innovation and reliability in industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop custom test systems and industrial control solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to bring new control technologies to market
- Support full product lifecycle from concept through deployment, including hardware and software integration
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize existing control systems for performance and reliability
- Document system designs and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Education:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in PC-based software development for industrial or commercial control/test systems
Technical
Skills:
- Proficient with LabVIEW for test system development
- Strong experience in system-level design, integration, and testing
- Advanced PC operations and understanding of hardware/software interfacing
- Preferred:
Microcontroller development using Assembly and/or C/C++ - Preferred:
Familiarity with real-time data acquisition, sensor integration, and automated testing protocols
Certifications:
- None required; relevant LabVIEW or NI certifications are a plus
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail
- Effective communicator and team collaborator
- Capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic engineering environment
