Superior Metals Manufacturing seeks a Technical Director to lead metal fabrication operations and technical strategy. You will oversee process engineering, production quality, and equipment reliability across machining, welding, and finishing. Responsibilities include directing a team of engineers and technicians, standardizing work instructions, and driving continuous improvement for safety, throughput, and cost. You will collaborate with customers on manufacturability, ensure compliance with industry standards, and guide capital projects and technology upgrades to keep our plant competitive and efficient.
Responsibilities
- Lead plant technical strategy for metal fabrication operations
- Oversee process engineering, machining, welding, and finishing performance
- Manage and mentor engineers, technicians, and production support staff
- Own quality standards, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, throughput, and cost
- Standardize work instructions and implement best-practice manufacturing methods
- Coordinate capital projects, equipment upgrades, and technology implementation
- Collaborate with customers on manufacturability and technical requirements
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations
- Monitor KPIs and present operational performance to senior leadership
