Responsibilities
- Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with coworkers, staff, project managers, other disciplines, and all other employees
- Assist with the creation of detailed engineering drawings for both underground and overhead transmission lines based on client and industry standards
- Assist with the development of complete design packages that incorporate all necessary details for construction (construction staking table, stringing charts, cable pulling, etc.)
- Develop structure framing structure details, to include hardware, insulators, and grounding details based on client and industry standards
- Develop load-bearing element details (duct banks, vaults, etc.) to include spacers, splicing, and grounding details based on client and industry standards
- Perform periodic site visits, as required, during the duration of the project to verify design intent and provide engineering support during construction
- Coordinate with internal and external resources to develop detailed designs and attend regularly scheduled meetings to provide update on the status of the design
- Perform detailed calculations to support the design and create reports to clearly express those calculations
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates
- Develop knowledge of internal and external document control system, QA/QC, and safety standards
- Responsible for complete and accurate record keeping and quality of all work performed
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from accredited college
- 0-3 years of experience
- A PE license is not required, but the pursuit of one is expected
- Understands how to read design drawings
- Computer skills:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) - Auto Desk (AutoCAD & AutoCAD Civil 3D), PLS-CADD, PLS Pole, PLS Tower experience is a plus
- CYMCAP experience is a plus
- ASPEN experience is a plus
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 per year
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
