Duties Description
The incumbent will support the Region 7 Division of Environmental Permits (DEP) office by performing the following duties: data management including logging in permit applications to ETracks and Dart, uploading application materials to DMS, including resubmitted application material, DEC correspondences, and issued permits, and distribution of DEP correspondences; scanning historical permit application documents; managing DEP’s general email inbox and general phone line;
GIS screening;
General Permit Application Review; FOIL screening; and other duties as assigned by the Regional Permit Administrator.

- Five years of experience in engineering or engineering technician work in aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, or sanitary engineering technology; environmental technology; geology or geology technology; or as a surveyor or a drafter;
- OR
- graduation from high school and two years of qualifying experience;
- OR
- graduation from a high school technical program in aeronautics, architectural drafting, chemistry, electricity, electronics, mechanical design and construction, technical structural drafting and design, technical instrumentation and control systems, or computer circuitry; and one year of qualifying experience;
- OR
- 36 college semester credit hours in any combination of the following: engineering, geology, environmental science, natural or physical science, drafting, mathematics, or surveying.
This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2027, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
