This position requires:
  • Extensive travel. Candidates must be willing to frequently travel and potentially temporarily relocate near the project site due to the nature of the position. Travel expenses and per diem is available for those who permanently reside outside the assigned project area.
  • Strong verbal communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and effectively communicate environmental observations and concerns on a dynamic construction site between project owners, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to identify and raise concerns regarding the implementation and maintenance of erosion and sediment control practices.
  • Ability to efficiently prepare and submit various inspection reports to supervisor.
  • Experience observing and documenting state and federal environmental regulatory requirements on an active construction site.
  • Minimum BS degree in environmental science, construction management, natural resources management, engineering, or related field.
  • Candidates must be willing to work more than 40 hours per week, including weekends. Time-and-one-half compensation for all hours worked more than 40 hours per week.
Desired

Experience:
  • Environmental or Agricultural Monitors with previous experience serving on projects approved by the New York Public Service Commission, the Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Electric Transmission, or the Ohio Power Siting Board.
  • Experience performing stormwater inspections, agricultural monitoring, oversight of sensitive resource impacts (e.g., streams and wetlands), oversight of horizontal directional drilling and implementation of inadvertent return plans, invasive species identification, and threatened and endangered species monitoring/identification.
  • CPESC or NYSESCCP Holder preferred, but not required

The anticipated base pay range of $25-$50 per hour is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s education, credentials, skill level and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs.
