Job SummaryRapid is seeking a high-performing and forward-thinking Accounting Manager to join our leadership team and play a critical role in strengthening the financial foundation of Rapid Response Monitoring Services, Inc. This position partners closely with the Controller and executive leadership to ensure financial accuracy, operational discipline, and scalable growth in a dynamic and evolving industry.
The Accounting Manager will help lead core accounting operations, enhance internal controls, and elevate financial reporting processes to support informed decision-making across the organization. Beyond technical excellence, this role serves as a key contributor to strategic initiatives, system improvements, and continuous process refinement.

Salary Range$ - $, based on experience
HoursMonday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate month, quarter, and year-end close activities.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports, key financial KPIs, and variance analyses.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, revenue recognition standards, and industry-specific accounting practices.
- Oversee full cycle accounting functions:
General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and fixed assets. - Monitor cash flow, working capital, and internal reporting to support business objectives.
- Implement and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Serve as hands‑on support for payroll coordination, expense allocations, and billing oversight.
- Drive all audit preparation and support external auditors during financial and SOC/industry audits.
- Ensure compliance with NYS regulatory requirements, industry standards, and audit recommendations.
- Maintain and enhance financial policies, internal controls, and SOX‑style controls appropriate to company size.
- Lead ERP/system enhancements and ensure integration with operational systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve financial accuracy.
- Maintain accounting documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members.
- Allocate responsibilities, conduct performance reviews, and support career growth.
- Promote teamwork, cross‑training, and professional development.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Partner with department team and executive leaders on financial strategies that support growth.
- Provide business insights for pricing, margins, cost controls, capital expenditures, and strategic initiatives.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 6+ years progressive accounting experience; utility or field service industry experience a plus.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.
- Successfully clear drug screen and background check to meet industry and security licensing requirements.
Technical Skills
- Strong GAAP understanding and experience with month‑end close.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power BI.
- Experience with audit cycles, internal controls, and compliance.
- Familiar with automated workflow and reporting solutions.
