Relationship Manager Commercial Lending & Business Development

Are you a seasoned commercial lender with a proven ability to build strong client relationships and drive business growth? Our client, a well-established billion-dollar community bank, is looking for a Commercial Relationship Manager to drive business development across Central New York, covering the area from Auburn to Utica. This role is designed for an experienced professional who excels at cultivating client relationships and expanding a loan portfolio.

As a Relationship Manager, you will play a critical role in fostering and expanding client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and growing the bank's commercial lending portfolio. This position requires a strong background in commercial lending, including experience with commercial real estate, construction, IRE, multi-family, and owner-occupied property lending.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients in Central NY, focusing on new business development and portfolio growth.
  • Work directly with clients to assess financial standing and provide tailored lending solutions.
  • Negotiate loan terms, structures, fees, and repayment plans with applicants.
  • Actively seek out and expand new business opportunities aligned with the bank's strategic goals.
  • Cross-sell additional bank products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure the timely and compliant completion of loan closings.
  • Build and leverage a network of Centers of Influence (COIs) to generate leads and strengthen relationships.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial lending.
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit and lending processes.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain business relationships in the Central NY market.
  • Experience with a diverse loan portfolio, including commercial real estate lending.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Adherence to ethical standards and regulatory compliance.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
