Pay Range

$18.50 - $23.42

Role Overview

The Relationship Banker delivers high quality customer service and responsiveness while providing consultative customer support to meet both internal and external customer needs. Responsibilities include efficient and timely processing of moderate to complex transactions, accurate opening and processing of all new deposit account types and consumer lending transactions, educating customers, and referring & cross‑selling appropriate products and services. Interactions may occur in person or over the telephone.

Responsibilities
  • Process daily transactions and associated general customer and account servicing duties with a high level of accuracy and efficiency, including routine and non‑routine teller transactions in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Perform various administrative duties such as maintaining records, preparing forms and reports, daily vault balancing, and completing branch audit tasks, while adhering to security measures and controls.
  • Provide any necessary system overrides as required by the Branch and Market Manager.
  • Provide a consultative customer service approach to ensure a clear understanding of customer needs and deliver viable solutions.
  • Engage in referral and relationship management in accordance with established objectives and goals.
  • Handle all types of deposit account opening and consumer lending transactions, and refer customers to appropriate business partners when necessary.
  • Conduct sales and service calls to existing and potential customers to meet existing needs and prospect new leads.
  • Take ownership to resolve customer issues and complaints while delivering a high level of responsiveness.
  • Participate in community events that support the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including providing guidance and training to employees.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year experience in related banking positions (preferred).
  • Previous customer service, sales and consumer lending experience (preferred).
Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient reading, writing, communication, and mathematical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Decision Pro, Loan‑to‑Value and Debt‑to‑Income calculations, and reading credit reports.
  • Ability to identify, analyze situations and resolve issues and problems.
  • Ability to conduct in‑depth conversations with customers and identify needs and opportunities.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and customer relations skills, including problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to function in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment and to work well as part of a team.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Unique Job Characteristics & Requirements
  • Gain full knowledge of consumer lending in preparation for NMLS Certification under the terms of the SAFE Act of 2008.
  • Ability to obtain NMLS Certification is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers.
  • Stationary 50% of time.

  • Move objects to maximum 20 lbs.
