This person will be expected to develop and support a wide range of customer service activities for both internal and external departments. Responsibilities include daily duties involving coding errors in Epic Work queues, contacting clinics and outside customers for missing diagnosis codes, demographic information, specimens, etc. Resolve problems related to specimen receiving, CPT and ICD-9/10 coding, billing modifiers and laboratory reports.
Interact with Clinical and Anatomical Pathology departments and assist in resolving provider/patient issues. Function as a competent, personable source of lab information for clinics and outside locations. Excellent Customer Service skill to include phone, computer, and time management skills.
Associate's degree and working knowledge of medical terminology, familiarity with medical coding and excellent written/oral communication skills required.
Preferred QualificationsTwo years experience of relevant experience in a health care related setting and knowledge of medical billing requirements, experience in laboratory services billing, ability to recognize insurance fraud/abuse and previous customer service experience strongly preferred.
Work DaysMonday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
