Senior Phlebotomist

Job Description :

Pay Range: $22.24hr - $24hr

Requirement/Must Have:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required by state regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and sample processing.
• Experience updating patient information and maintaining documentation.
• 2 4 years of related experience preferred.

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using straight and butterfly needles.
• Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens per test requirements.
• Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
• Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes to ensure accuracy.
• Verify all test requisitions and computer labels against scripts for correctness.
• Properly explain procedures to patients clearly and courteously.
• Store samples at required temperatures and prepare them for transport.
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination as needed.
• Update patient information accurately.
• Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results when appropriate.
• Attend required annual department trainings.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
