Sonography​/Ultrasound Technologist

Sonography/Ultrasound Technologist position in Syracuse, NY to support the Veteran community. Open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals.

• Contract Type: 6‑month tour with option to extend.
• Schedule:
  
  8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
• Location:
  
  Syracuse, NY (VAMC).

• Work 8‑hour shifts, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, 8–15 ultrasound cases per day.
• Prepare patients, provide pre‑test education, offer reassurance, and ensure understanding of discharge instructions.
• Perform diagnostic imaging examinations following standard procedures; locate and record internal anatomy.
• Carry out quality‑control measures to ensure optimal image quality and protect patients from unnecessary exposure.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
• 3+ years of experience with abdominal (GB, liver, renal, pancreas, spleen, bladder, pelvic pathology), renal sonography, renal artery Doppler (rule out stenosis), bladder, abdomen Doppler, aorta, lower extremity venous Doppler (rule out DVT), carotid Doppler, lower extremity arterial studies, pelvic, chest sonogram, superficial masses, scrotal sono (rule out mass, torsion, abscess, infection), lower and upper extremity vein mapping.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Certificate in abdomen, OB/GYN, and/or breast.
• Current, full, unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. state, territory, or D.C.
• Basic Life Support (BLS);
  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Phillips EPIQ 7 or EPIQ 5 experience preferred.
• Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
