POSITION SUMMARY
Utilize the combination of lived experience, excellent interpersonal skills and NYS OASAS approved training and certification to engage, advocate, reinforce treatment engagement and recovery goals, support recovery processes and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Provide face-to-face, telehealth and community-based interventions with patients and their identified community support systems. Provide timely and appropriate reports and documentation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMust have NYS Certification as a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA). Must complete NYS OASAS background clearance. In addition to the required certification, at least 1 year experience working in an outpatient substance use disorder treatment program and externally providing outreach to patients with substance use disorders utilizing patient centered and evidence-based practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle objects; controls, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
