Job Summary
The Front-End Patient Service Representative (PSR), in our Internal Medicine/Primary Care, serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support patient care. The PSR manages patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and front-desk operations to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive experience.
Greet patients, families, and visitors in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
- Check in and register patients for appointments, confirming demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, follow up on cancellations, and manage waitlists.
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain pre-authorizations when required, and collect copayments or balances.
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of patient records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Communicate effectively with clinical and imaging staff to coordinate patient flow and minimize wait times.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
- Assist patients with forms, way finding, and understanding pre-procedure instructions.
- Monitor and maintain front-desk supplies and patient-facing materials.
- Escalate patient concerns or service issues to management as needed.
- Participate in department meetings and training sessions to stay current on processes and protocols.
Associates Degree or pertinent college level courses and two years of administrative/office management experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred QualificationsWork Days:
Monday through Friday daytime hours
G3: $18.75 - $28.40
