Shift: Days, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday (5x8s)
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited AAS or AMA Radiation Therapy program
Current NYS Radiation Therapist license
3–5 years of related experience
Strong knowledge of radiation safety standards and high-voltage radiation therapy equipment
Preferred experience: True Beam and CT Sim
Job Duties:
Deliver radiation therapy to patients according to physician prescriptions and National Cancer Institute regulations
Operate and maintain all types of radiotherapy equipment (Co-60, Linear Accelerator, Simulator, etc.)
Take radiographic films to confirm treatment volumes and perform pretreatment duties, including tumor localization, contouring, and collection of physical factors for treatment planning
Prepare and photograph patients for portal verification
Ensure patient safety, recognize and respond to radiation reactions, and provide patient education
Maintain accurate treatment records and port films
Participate in departmental in-service and educational programs
Coordinate departmental and inpatient activities to ensure proper patient care
