Job Opportunity Position:
Radiation Therapist Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

• AAS or equivalent degree from an accredited program
• RRT license
• Three to five years of related experience
• NYS license
• Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance

• True Beam
• CT Simulation

The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for delivering radiation therapy to patients following the specifications of their treatment plan and the regulations set forth by the National Cancer Institute.

Key responsibilities include:

• Utilizing high-voltage, advanced radiation therapy equipment while adhering to safety standards
• Coordinating patient appointments and interpreting physician prescriptions
• Administering radiation treatments in accordance with physician instructions
• Preparing and operating various types of radiotherapy equipment, including Co-60, Linear Accelerator, and Simulator
• Taking radiographic images to confirm treatment volumes
• Performing pre-treatment duties using the Simulator to localize tumor size and position
• Collecting physical factors for treatment planning and verifying patient positioning through photography
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by recognizing radiation reactions and providing appropriate care and instructions
• Complying with departmental and regulatory policies and procedures
• Recording and maintaining accurate treatment records and port films
• Participating in departmental in-service education programs
• Coordinating departmental and patient care activities to ensure optimal service delivery
