Arc of Onondaga is seeking caring, dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in residential settings.
Whether you have experience as a caregiver, Home Health Aide (HHA), Direct Care Provider, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Personal Care Assistant (PCA), or are simply interested in pursuing a rewarding career in Human Services, we want to hear from you!
As a DSP, you will provide hands-on assistance, guidance, and encouragement to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live fulfilling, meaningful, and increasingly independent lives.
What You'll DoWork with individuals to plan, coordinate, and participate in social, recreational, and community activities.
Provide compassionate care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home setting.
Help the people you support direct the course of their own lives by promoting advocacy, self-confidence, choice, and independence.
Support the emotional, physical, and personal well-being of the people receiving services.
Assist with daily tasks, routines, and household activities.
Teach and reinforce important life skills, including money management, shopping, meal preparation, and maintaining a home.
Assist with personal care and hygiene as needed.
Encourage community participation, personal growth, and independence.
