1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – Syracuse, NY (MVS-JLC)
A 19-year-old male in the Syracuse area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with his communication skills via iPad, gestures and some sign language.his parents. He enjoys watching his neighborhood and late-night car rides to view the lights. He enjoys playing games on his iPad, watching movies, walks in his community and swimming.
The ideal candidate should be creative, engaging, active and patient. The ideal candidate should be willing to help facilitate communication via iPad, sign language and gestures. The ideal candidate should be willing to provide personal care as using the restroom, dressing, brushing teeth and bathing.
This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services.at the agency.
Hours and days of work:
Monday – Friday and weekends, Flexible after 2pm.
Starting pay: list CH Starting pay is $19.25 for Community Hab and increases with years of relevant experience.
Location:
Syracuse, NY
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be at least 18 years old Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
