Position Overview
Hidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. We are seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to manage and improve the infrastructure that supports the development, production, and deployment of our state-of-the-art sensor network. This role plays a critical part in ensuring system reliability, scalability, and security across on-premises and cloud environments.
Location: This position may be remote, hybrid, or onsite at our Syracuse, NY office.
Responsibilities- Design, extend, and harden Dev Ops infrastructure supporting product development and production systems
- Design scalable deployment and configuration strategies for on-premises and cloud-based environments
- Investigate, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and supporting architecture
- Improve automation, regression testing, and test coverage to reduce developer touch time
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production system issues to minimize downtime
- Evaluate, prioritize, and remediate infrastructure and operational problems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design and implementation
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Document system architectures and clearly communicate technical decisions to peers and stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- A proactive problem-solver with a passion for improving infrastructure and developer workflows
- A desire to stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience deploying and maintaining cloud-native solutions (AWS, Azure, or similar)
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Salt Stack, Ansible, or Chef
- Expertise with configuration management and version control systems (Git, Perforce)
- Experience managing CI/CD platforms (Git Lab, Jenkins, Bamboo, JFrog Artifactory, etc.)
- Proficiency with Shell/Bash and at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, etc.)
- Expert-level Linux systems administration experience, including configuration, hardening, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with on-premises and cloud cybersecurity best practices
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, or a strong drive to learn
- Experience working in multi-cloud environments, or a strong desire to develop this skill set

Salary RangeThe anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $90,800 to $113,500 annually. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
