Technical Support Specialist

Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Support professional to join a medical imaging engineering team supporting more than 1,200 healthcare locations nationwide. This position plays a critical role in supporting imaging technology, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating vendors, and ensuring locations remain operational.
This is not a traditional help desk position. We are looking for an individual with strong troubleshooting skills who can independently investigate software, hardware, networking, and application issues while managing tickets from initial intake through resolution.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of desktop support, systems support, networking, customer service, and coordination experience.
Responsibilities- Provide Tier II/Tier III technical support for medical imaging systems and related applications
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, desktop, network, and connectivity issues
- Provide remote technical support to healthcare locations across the country
- Analyze and diagnose technical problems to determine root cause and resolution
- Escalate and coordinate support activities with third-party vendors and manufacturers
- Manage support tickets throughout the full lifecycle, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
- Coordinate field technician dispatches, scheduling, equipment replacement activities, and maintenance visits
- Support software deployments, device rollouts, upgrades, testing, and implementation projects
- Document troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and customer interactions
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
- Assist with hardware staging, configuration, and validation activities
- 3+ years of experience in Technical Support, Desktop Support, Systems Support, Application Support, or a related IT support role
- Strong Windows workstation administration and troubleshooting experience
- Experience supporting software applications, desktop hardware, and end users
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, LAN connectivity, switches, cabling, and device communications
- Experience diagnosing and resolving application and connectivity issues
- Excellent communication, customer service, and documentation skills
- Experience working with vendors and third-party support organizations
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple technical issues simultaneously
- Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution
This is a Contract position based out of Syracuse, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
