Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY, is a college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges throughout New York State. Job Description:

This is aFederal Work Study(FWS) position. IT Helpdesk Computer Assistants will primarily work in Coulter Library (Coulter Hall C240).

IT Helpdesk Computer Assistants will assist students with:

  • Connecting to the OCC-Public wireless network.
  • Microsoft 365 applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher)
  • MyOCC , Student Planning.
  • General OCC related technology issues and questions.

The student worker will need to interact well with students on a one to one basis, helping them to get started, answering questions and resolving  addition, IT Helpdesk Computer Assistants monitor equipment, perform general housekeeping, and complete other tasks as needed.

  • Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
  • Must be matriculated into a program
  • Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)
  • Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program
Additional Information:
  • Pay Rate:
    • Starting rate of $16.00 for new Federal Work Studies.
    • Starting rate of $17.00 for returning Federal Work Studies
  • Hours of Operations:
    Monday-Thursday 8:30am - 5:30pm and Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm

Federal Work Study may work up to 20 hours per weekwhile classes are in session.
