Job Description
We're working with a growing ISO-certified electronics manufacturer in North Syracuse on a newly created Strategic Sourcing Manager role. This is a high-visibility position with real ownership. You'll be the architect of their sourcing strategy from the ground up, with direct impact on profitability, supplier performance, and operational growth.
What makes this role differentThis isn't a seat-warmer position. It's a clean slate. You'll shape multi-category sourcing strategy, lead supplier negotiations, drive a multi-year cost reduction roadmap, and own the full supplier lifecycle from NPI through obsolescence. Leadership will see your work.
What you'll own- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies aligned to business and supply chain objectives
- Lead RFQs, contract negotiations, and long-term supplier agreements with a TCO focus
- Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships including performance, KPIs, audits, corrective actions
- Drive Value Engineering initiatives in collaboration with Engineering
- Lead supply-chain strategy for complex NPI projects, mitigating sole source and long-lead-time risk
- Partner cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Finance
- Mentor junior procurement professionals
- 7+ years in strategic sourcing or procurement in a manufacturing environment
- Proven contract negotiation skills, complex agreements, pricing, terms, delivery
- Strong command of MRP systems and supply-chain processes
- ERP proficiency (Epicor Plus)
- Data visualization skills. Tableau, Power BI, or advanced Excel
- Familiarity with HTS codes, Incoterms, and tariffs
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
- CPSM, CSCP, or APICS certification preferred
