Role Description

The Supply Chain Technician is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Syracuse, NY. This role is responsible for supporting daily supply chain operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing medical and non‑medical supplies to clinical and support areas. The Supply Chain Technician helps maintain accurate inventory levels, prepares and replenishes supply carts and storage areas, and ensures items are properly labeled, tracked, and rotated according to organizational standards.

The role includes working with computerized inventory systems, documenting transactions, and communicating with departments to address supply needs and resolve discrepancies. The Supply Chain Technician collaborates with colleagues and clinical teams to promote timely, efficient, and safe delivery of supplies that support quality patient care.

Qualifications
  • Ability to perform supply chain support tasks such as receiving, stocking, picking, and distributing supplies in a healthcare setting.
  • Competence with basic computer and inventory systems, including data entry, electronic documentation, and use of handheld or barcode devices.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in handling inventory, tracking items, and following established procedures.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clinical and non‑clinical staff and respond to supply requests professionally.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and move materials safely in storerooms, loading areas, and patient care environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in supply chain, materials management, warehouse, or healthcare support roles is preferred.
  • Commitment to safety, infection prevention practices, and adherence to St. Joseph’s Health policies and values.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, including possible evenings, weekends, or holidays, based on department needs.
