Electronics Commodity Manager

SAAB is seeking an Electronics Commodity Manager to lead strategic sourcing of electronic components for advanced defense and security systems. You will develop commodity strategies, analyze total cost of ownership, negotiate contracts, and manage a global supplier base to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets. Partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams, you'll mitigate supply risk, drive cost reduction, and support new product introductions in a high-tech, mission-driven environment with strong focus on innovation, safety, and long-term customer value.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity strategies for electronic components to support SAAB's manufacturing programs.
• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet quality, cost, delivery, and risk requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements with global electronics suppliers.
• Analyze total cost of ownership and drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams on new product introductions and design-to-cost.
• Monitor supplier performance, manage corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
• Forecast demand, manage capacity, and mitigate supply chain risks and obsolescence issues.
• Ensure compliance with defense, trade, and quality regulations and internal policies.
• Use ERP/MRP and analytics tools to manage data, KPIs, and reporting for the commodity.
• Support cross-functional projects that enhance supply chain resilience and innovation.
