We’re looking for a Distribution Center Manager to join our growing Syracuse, NY Branch to lead warehouse and distribution operations. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of inventory while leading the distribution team and partnering closely with branch leadership, drivers, and sales to deliver outstanding customer service.

What You’ll Do

As the Distribution Manager, you’ll be accountable for day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations, team leadership, and inventory integrity. You’ll:

  • Lead, schedule, train, coach, and supervise distribution and warehouse employees
  • Assign daily work, monitor productivity, and address performance issues promptly and fairly
  • Ensure safe operations in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards
  • Enforce PPE requirements and proper handling and storage of cylinders, equipment, and hazardous materials
  • Oversee receiving, inspection, storage, picking, staging, and shipping of products
  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, reconciliations, and system updates
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Coordinate closely with drivers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
  • Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, signage, and equipment readiness
  • Communicate operational issues that may impact customers or delivery schedules
  • Support branch leadership with operational planning, audits, and problem resolution
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to improve safety, accuracy, and workflow
  • Participate in training, meetings, and company initiatives
  • Model company values through daily actions and leadership
  • Perform other operational duties as assigned
Requirements

What You’ll Bring

You’ll succeed in this role if you’re a hands-on, safety-focused leader who thrives in an industrial distribution environment.

  • 3–5 years of warehouse, distribution, or operations leadership experience
  • Proven experience leading hourly teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and ERP systems
  • Understanding of safety regulations (OSHA required; DOT experience preferred)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and manage competing demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a warehouse environment
  • Commitment to uphold Haun values:

  • Industrial distribution, gas, welding supply, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience working with drivers and delivery operations preferred
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and reach throughout the workday
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise, and industrial conditions
