Lead the Property Services organization Safety Programs that include Emergency Action Planning (EAP), Shelter-In-Place (SIP), Business Continuity, Fire Life Safety, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, contractor safety oversight, and related corporate safety initiatives. Develop, maintain, implement, and continuously improve safety and emergency management programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and industry best practices. Act as the single point of contact for emergency preparedness, life safety compliance, business continuity planning, and corporate safety audits across the Property Services New York business territory in a consistent manner.
KeyAccountabilities
- Translate National Grid US Emergency Planning policies and create Emergency Action Plan (EAP) standard operating processes and procedures for all Property Services locations, driving greater quality and awareness for National Grid. Ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards while developing a culture of emergency preparedness. Develop, maintain, and conduct annual reviews of all EAPs and create tracking and reporting dashboards to validate program compliance.
- Create, maintain, implement, and conduct annual reviews of the Shelter-In-Place (SIP) program, including development of standard processes and procedures, identification of designated shelter locations, training and awareness activities, coordination with emergency responders, compliance monitoring, and reporting. Ensure plans remain current and aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Work with Fire Wardens, Facilities Management, Communications teams, and site leadership to coordinate, manage, and execute fire drills and emergency exercises. Monitor drill performance, document corrective actions, and communicate lessons learned to improve emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
- Work with the US Property Services teams to translate National Grid Business Continuity objectives into operating processes and procedures. Ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards and create a tracking and reporting dashboard to validate program compliance.
- Audit and review existing Emergency Plans, Shelter-In-Place Plans, Business Continuity Plans, processes, and procedures and continuously seek ways to improve effectiveness, drive efficiencies, strengthen compliance, and enhance emergency response capabilities.
