Materials Manager Community Campus - CG-Materials Management

Upstate Medical University is looking for a Materials Manager to join their dynamic team of expert professionals.

The Materials Manager plays a vital role in supporting patient care through efficient supply chain and materials management operations. The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing 24/7 Materials Management operations across General Stores and Receiving at the Community Campus. In this leadership role, you will ensure the effective distribution, storage, and availability of supplies and equipment while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service.

The Materials Manager supervises staff performance and daily operations, including scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and personnel matters. This position partners closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure supplies, equipment, carts, and critical stations are fully stocked, organized, and ready to support patient care needs.

Bachelor's degree in Management or related field and a minimum of two years relevant experience in equipment distribution and/or inventory management or related to include supervisory experience (preferably in a hospital or healthcare related environment) or Associate's degree in Management or related field and four years relevant experience in equipment distribution and/or inventory management or related to include supervisory experience (preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment), plus strong organizational, written/oral communication, interpersonal, and computer skills required.

Ability to multitask, stand and walk for long periods of time and lift 35 pounds to shoulder height required.
