Location: City of Syracuse

Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of packaged goods, has an immediate need for an experienced Quality Inspector to join our growing team in Syracuse.

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for rewinding, inspecting, and packaging labels to customer specifications. In addition, this individual is also responsible for maintaining and meeting all internal requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect all labels prior to shipment, identify defects (e.g., incorrect label information, color inaccuracies, label count), and ensure correction.
  • Verify jobs and job categories for accuracy.
  • Clean machines and all associated parts used to create customer labels.
  • Complete pre-run and end-run evaluation procedures; ensure all required paperwork is complete.
  • Label-count verification.
  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Identify issues/problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions.
    • Understand raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques used in manufacturing and distribution.
    • Operate, maintain, and repair machines, tools, and computers.
    • Apply mathematical skills such as measurement and logic.
    • Provide good customer service and interpersonal skills, working effectively with diverse professionals and personalities.
    • Read and write effectively in English.
    • Communicate clearly and analytically in written and verbal formats.
    • Train and instruct others, measuring individual abilities.
    • Be detail-oriented.
    • Lift up to 50 pounds and push/roll 300–800 pounds with a pallet jack.
    • Demonstrate manual dexterity for tasks like cutting, grasping, guiding, pressing, pulling, pushing, rolling, typing, and turning knobs.
    • Stand for long periods on varied surfaces, reaching, twisting, bending, and stretching as needed.
    • Use a strobe light to find errors, ensuring no light sensitivity issues.
    • Have excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
    • Decipher colors accurately.
    • Pass pre-employment screening, including drug testing.
