Manufacturing Associate - Honing

Location:

Syracuse, NY

Pay range: $/hr. DOE ($1.50/hr differential for 2nd shift)

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for entry‑level machine shop duties and responsibilities in support of manufacturing.

• Operates various machines for basic tasks such as lathes, saws, honing machine, etc.
• Performs mechanical operations using various hand tools.
• Maintains appropriate records.
• Continues technical growth and development.
• Follows all Bluefors safety standards, practices and procedures.
• Practices good housekeeping and maintains a practical and clean workspace.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• High school diploma or GED; six months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with metal shop equipment such as lathes is a plus.

Employee must frequently stand, reach with arms and hands, have hand and finger dexterity, occasionally walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk and hear. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Manufacturing environment with internal customers. Mandatory PPE required. Exposed to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, heat, cold, risk of electrical shock and vibration. Noise level usually moderately loud.
