Material Handler, Forklift Operator
We are looking for a Stockroom Associate to join our team at Bluefors in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will support our manufacturing operations by receiving, organizing, and moving materials, parts, and supplies throughout the facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, takes pride in staying organized, and wants to contribute to a fast‑paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and inspecting incoming deliveries from parcel and common carriers, verifying part numbers, quantities, and purchase order information against packing slips. You will identify and document any damaged materials, notify the appropriate teams for resolution, and use the ERP system to pick parts from warehouse locations and prepare them for delivery to production areas.
You will support First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory practices, communicate potential stock‑outs, and deliver parts and bins to production teams throughout the facility. You will also operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and hand trucks, maintain a clean and organized warehouse, and perform other duties as assigned.
We are looking for a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and some related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You should be comfortable using basic computer systems, and experience with ERP systems and FIFO inventory methods is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, a customer‑service mindset, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities are essential. You should also be able to operate material handling equipment or be willing to learn.
We also appreciate candidates who have prior experience operating forklifts, chain hoists, hand trucks, or other warehouse equipment. Familiarity with manufacturing environments and an understanding of inventory control practices will help you stand out. A proactive attitude, willingness to take on additional responsibilities, and commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workspace are highly valued. Candidates who align with our values of teamwork, dependability, continuous learning, and safety will thrive in this role.
We offer you an interesting, challenging, and responsible position, along with the support of a highly skilled and growing organization. This is an excellent opportunity for your professional growth in a dynamic, enthusiastic, and collaborative team where we work together and support each other. We foster a multicultural work environment with room to grow, where you can use your potential and further develop your skills.
We offer a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), long‑ and short‑term disability, life insurance, training, tuition reimbursement, vacation, and Paid Time Off (PTO).
