Machine Operator – Multi‑Spindle Screw Machines (Davenport / Acme‑Gridley)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Employment Type: Full‑Time
Shift: 1st Shift Available
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate range from $22 to $35 per hour DOE + shift premium + comprehensive benefits
We are seeking a skilled Multi‑Spindle Screw Machine Operator with hands‑on experience running Davenport ,
Acme‑Gridley , Brown & Sharpe,
Schutte , or Tornos multi‑spindle equipment. If you take pride in producing high‑volume, high‑precision components and enjoy working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, this is the opportunity for you.
- Operate, and troubleshoot multi‑spindle automatic screw machines including Davenport and Acme‑Gridley platforms
- Adjust cams, tooling, collets, feeds, speeds, and attachments to maintain optimal performance
- Perform in‑process inspections using micrometers, calipers, comparators, and gauges
- Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and process sheets
- Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance
- Collaborate with supervisors, setup technicians, and quality teams to ensure part accuracy and production efficiency
- 2+ years of experience operating multi‑spindle screw machines (Davenport, Acme‑Gridley, Schütte, Tornos, or equivalent)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of cam‑driven machine operation
- Ability to perform minor setups and adjustments independently
- Familiarity with high‑volume production environments
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
