Position: Chemical Process Technician - 1st Shift (90-Day Increase Eligible)
Location: City of Syracuse

Position Overview

Process Engineering Technician – 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, M-F) at 6457 Fly Road, East Syracuse, NY 13057. Supports manufacturing, engineering, and quality departments in printed circuit board manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Assure manufacturing process runs per procedure or conduct engineering tests.
  • Monitor manufacturing process or perform failure analysis for engineering or quality.
  • Take measurements for process control or gather measurement data for engineering.
  • Rewrite documentation and prepare reports for engineering or quality.
  • Respond to data on process control charts or maintain material movement spreadsheets and report results.
  • Run tests through production process line or assist process engineer with evaluating data.
  • Responsible for all processes within manufacturing and/or support the efforts of engineers.
  • Perform process control activities such as measuring product or performing tests.
  • Follow all safety measures when handling chemicals and hazardous waste with regard to use, mixing and disposing chemicals.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong desire and willingness to learn.
  • Familiar with PC applications.
Education and Experience

Associate’s Degree (or in final stages of completion) in Engineering, Chemistry, or Manufacturing; or equivalent experience required. Strong math skills, especially statistics.

Training

Technicians will undergo chemical handling training prior to the start of duties and will actively participate in ongoing hazardous waste and chemical handling training.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $43,237 – $68,342 (annual salary). Additional compensation may include an annual or quarterly company bonus and, if hired for an alternative shift, a shift premium. 401(k), medical, dental, vision, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accident benefits, life insurance, disability benefits, paid vacation and holidays are available from the first of the month following hire. For some positions only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.
