The Machine Set-up and Repair Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Syracuse, NY. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting production machinery according to specifications, ensuring safe and efficient operation. The operator inspects equipment and finished products for quality, performs routine maintenance, and troubleshoots mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Daily activities include using hand tools to install or replace machine components, monitoring production runs, documenting operational data, and collaborating with maintenance and production teams as needed.
The role also involves following safety protocols, maintaining a clean work area, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in machine operation, including set-up, adjustment, and routine monitoring.
- Experience working with industrial machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Understanding of quality control practices to inspect products and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or related field is a plus.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift within reasonable limits for extended periods, following safety guidelines.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
