Machine Operator​/Davenport Multi-Spindle

Machine Operator – Syracuse, NY

Shift: 1st shift 5:30am‑3:00pm

Pay Rate: $21.00‑$30.00 per hour depending on experience

• Operates a line of multiple spindle screw machines, after set‑up has been made by the set‑up person and checked, checking for quality of parts.
• Responsible for maintaining production levels and quality standards.
• Maintain tool log sheets.
• Remove, sharpen and reset tools as necessary.
• Load bar‑stock and pull chips as necessary.
• Performs all SPC charting as required for a specific job or group of machines.
• Makes adjustments and minor repairs to machines as necessary.
• Ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Follow yellow pan and containment process.
• Adhere to FOD requirements.
• Perform assigned Preventive Maintenance Tasks.
• Wear personal protective equipment as required and follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

• Two years previous machine operator experience or successful completion of screw machine operator training program.
• Basic math skills, including ability to use micrometers and other measuring devices.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Ability to inspect parts, visual acuity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
