Machine Operator – Syracuse, NY
Shift: 1st shift 5:30am‑3:00pm
Pay Rate: $21.00‑$30.00 per hour depending on experience
Position Overview- Operates a line of multiple spindle screw machines, after set‑up has been made by the set‑up person and checked, checking for quality of parts.
- Responsible for maintaining production levels and quality standards.
- Maintain tool log sheets.
- Remove, sharpen and reset tools as necessary.
- Load bar‑stock and pull chips as necessary.
- Performs all SPC charting as required for a specific job or group of machines.
- Makes adjustments and minor repairs to machines as necessary.
- Ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Follow yellow pan and containment process.
- Adhere to FOD requirements.
- Perform assigned Preventive Maintenance Tasks.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Two years previous machine operator experience or successful completion of screw machine operator training program.
- Basic math skills, including ability to use micrometers and other measuring devices.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Ability to inspect parts, visual acuity.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
