Position OverviewAs a Sheet Metal Welder your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Perform arc, MIG, TIG (Heliarc), and acetylene welding on a variety of metal components.
- Weld steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other dissimilar metals.
- Set up and adjust welding equipment, including current, electrodes, torch tips, and flame settings.
- Perform plasma cutting, brazing, grinding, drilling, patching, sandblasting, and shot blasting as required.
- Fabricate steel and aluminum panel racks and welding fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Operate hand and power tools to prepare materials for welding.
- Perform machine or hand torch cutting of structural members and fabricated components.
- Use overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials safely.
- Work from ladders or scaffolding when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures.
- Report equipment issues or unusual conditions to the supervisor.
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Sheet Metal Welder who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Sheet Metal Welder would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2–3 years of professional welding experience.
- Experience with MIG welding and general metal fabrication.
- Ability to weld steel and aluminum components.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- TIG (Heliarc) welding experience.
- Plasma cutting and brazing experience.
- Fabrication of sheet metal components.
- Experience with stainless steel and aluminum welding.
- Overhead crane and forklift operation experience.

Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
