We are seeking an experienced NC/CNC Machine Set-Up & Operator for the 1st shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine shop equipment, performing machining operations, working with different metals, and producing components to required specifications and tolerances.

• Plan and perform a wide variety of machine setups and machining operations.

• Set up and operate equipment including:

• Engine lathes

• Vertical turret lathes

• Radial drill presses

• Spindle drill presses

• Shapers

• Surface grinders

• Horizontal and vertical milling machines

• Select appropriate machine attachments, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds based on material and finish requirements.

• Square up and lay out production runs and special castings for machining operations.

• Machine components to close and fairly close tolerances.

• Work with a variety of metals, including steel, iron, brass, bronze, and aluminum.

• Layout, machine, fit, and assemble jigs and fixtures.

• Determine machining operation sequences.

• Perform computations involving dividing heads, angles, tapers, fits, and assemblies.

• Inspect parts for adequate finish allowance, defective material, and faulty operations.

• Maintain machines, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

• Follow 5S processes and applicable workplace safety requirements.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in NC/CNC machine setup and operation

• Hands-on experience with machine shop equipment and machining operations.
• Ability to work with various metals and machining materials.
• Ability to read and work to close tolerances.
• Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, setups, and machining processes.

No relocation assistance is available.

Only candidates currently residing within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse, NY will be considered.
