Location: City of Syracuse
Anoplate is seeking an Environmental Systems Operator to perform maintenance of Anoplate's environmental systems in order to achieve full compliance with local, county and federal agencies. The Environmental Systems Operator is responsible for properly treating solutions once their usefulness has expired, discarding and making up new processing baths and rinses, and making chemical additions in a way that minimizes the impact to the environment, and keeps production processes running at optimum performance.
ShiftSunday through Thursday 9:15pm-5:45pm
Responsibilities- Performs hazardous waste handling, labeling and record keeping as required by OSHA & ISO with instruction.
- Pumps, transfers, stores and/or treats solutions that are no longer viable for processing, as scheduled.
- Performs bath cleaning and maintenance. Assures all aspects of tanks are ready for processing solutions. (i.e. filters changed, bottom & side walls free of oil, dirt, grime, plate out, probes and controller feed tubes properly installed)
- Weighs/measures chemicals and make additions to processing baths, utilizing clean containers and hoses at all times.
- Communicate concerns regarding the plating baths, process issues, excess waste being created etc.
- Emergency spill response clean‑up.
- Maintain chemical storage in a neat and orderly manner and update inventory records.
- Performs preventative maintenance and makes minor repairs on EO equipment.
- Perform basic mechanical repairs to facility equipment including simple troubleshooting of improperly functioning process equipment or building/equipment surface preparation and painting.
- Assist in installing or modifying new and existing production and facility equipment as required.
- Maintain safe, neat and orderly workplace and storage areas.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience working with hazardous material and fork truck certification is preferred.
- Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Candidates must be able to regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs and lift objects up to 50lbs.
