We are devoted to flexible scheduling and work to balance the needs of the unit and staff. We will consider full time & part time shifts. Lower nurse to patient ratios according to acuity.
Our Progressive Care Unit 3-4 is a 20-bed adult intermediate care unit providing a higher flexible acuity level of patient care. PCU nurses have expert assessment skills to provide constant observation and monitoring with a lower patient to nurse ratio that corresponds to patient acuity levels. A stepdown sister unit of MSICU, our specialties include complex post op surgical care, acute exacerbation of medical conditions, post rapid response care and conditions requiring frequent monitoring.
Specialized training includes CORE EKG classes, Critical Care medications, ACLS, Ventilator/Respiratory class, and PD. We encourage cross training experiences for career growth. St. Joseph’s Health is recognized for cardiac and spine surgery outcomes according to Health grades.

- Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge.

- Monitor quality metrics and ensure complete and accurate documentation in the patient record.
- Act as mentor, clinician, educator, consultant/collaborator and navigator.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York with at least 1 year of experience.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, as per NYS requirements.
- Graduate Nurse Residency positions for GN/RN with less than 1 year of experience.
- Specialty credentialing and educational degree as appropriate for practice area.
- Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations.
- Participates in continuing education and maintains knowledge and skills.
- Clinical ladder advancement with experience, staff engagement, and national certification.

Pay Range: $38.75-$54.85 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills and education. This is an exempt position per FLSA. Location may affect the pay range.
