Reporting to the Stroke Program Manager, the Stroke Data Coordinator, an RN, manages University Hospital's Stroke Program data for patients who have experienced Hemorrhagic or Ischemic Stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack (or are suspected of having a stroke). This role requires leadership, problem-solving, and clear communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a complex healthcare environment. The coordinator fosters effective relationships with nursing and interdisciplinary colleagues and oversees the abstraction, entry, and interpretation of Get With the Guidelines data for the stroke program.
They also coordinate and ensure compliance with stroke telemedicine program data and time targets in collaboration with the Stroke Program Outreach Coordinator. The coordinator plays a key role in implementing, coordinating, and evaluating data related to stroke patient care, from pre-hospital through rehabilitation phases. Additionally, they track and maintain a database of all stroke patients in both inpatient and clinical settings.
NYS RN license and registration, or eligible, Associate's degree in Nursing with four years of acute care RN experience (preferably in Neuroscience) required. Experience with Get with the Guidelines Stroke Program data and data entry, Stroke Standards, chart abstraction, and data interpretation required. Excellent analytical, written/oral communication, and interpersonal skills required.
