About Our Emergency Department
Our Emergency Department is a fast‑paced team of interdisciplinary professionals ready to promote and restore health to all who enter. Divided into four major zones with a waiting area, registration area, and triage area, we efficiently provide care for all specialties and all ages. Our call‑ahead program is the first in this area to offer scheduled evaluation times. The Emergency Department offers LPNs the opportunity for a wide variety of patient experiences, from minor injuries in our Speed Unit to cardiac arrest and trauma.

- Provide emergency intervention and care for triaged patients, transferring them to the appropriate setting.
- Deliver treatment modalities and direct patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical affiliates, nursing, case managers, social work, EMS, and unit support staff.
- Participate in community events to educate and promote health and wellness.
Ensure quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, national standards of practice, and nursing and clinical service standards of care and practice.
Utilize the nursing process, plan, direct, and supervise patient care, and participate in the provision of direct care for patients and families under the leadership of an RN.
Offer various work options and learning opportunities available within the unit.
Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current LPN licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York.
- One year of clinical experience with medication administration preferred.
- Participate in orientation, continuing education, and updates, maintaining knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
- Current BLS & CPR certifications.
Clinical setting. Exposure Category I.
Physical DemandsMedium work: must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, and reach.
Pay Range$25.00–$35.70 per hour, based on experience.
