Location: Rochester, NY
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, Step-Down, Intermediate Care, or Acute Care experience
- Active New York RN License required at the time of submission
- First-time travelers welcome
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Must be comfortable managing patient ratios up to 1:5-1:7 when required
- BLS
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- 3x12 Night Shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Dysrhythmia management
- Rapid Response and Code Team procedures
- Peripheral IV care and management
- Phlebotomy skills
- Oxygen therapy management
- Non-invasive airway management
- Telemetry monitoring
- Isolation precautions
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in New York. The ideal candidate will provide specialized care to patients requiring close monitoring and a higher level of care than a medical-surgical unit while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a progressive care setting
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition
- Manage patients requiring continuous telemetry and advanced monitoring
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation
- Adhere to all patient safety, quality, and infection prevention standards
