Location: Rochester, NY

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, Step-Down, Intermediate Care, or Acute Care experience
  • Active New York RN License required at the time of submission
  • First-time travelers welcome
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • Must be comfortable managing patient ratios up to 1:5-1:7 when required
Required Certifications
  • BLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Schedule
  • 3x12 Night Shifts
  • Every other weekend required

  • Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Dysrhythmia management
  • Rapid Response and Code Team procedures
  • Peripheral IV care and management

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in New York. The ideal candidate will provide specialized care to patients requiring close monitoring and a higher level of care than a medical-surgical unit while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a progressive care setting
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Manage patients requiring continuous telemetry and advanced monitoring
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation
  • Adhere to all patient safety, quality, and infection prevention standards
